Given the wear on the shoes, I do not recommend it....most gym shoes are renound for very good grip, where in bowling u need one foot to slide. I don%26#039;t recommend it, as the rubber on these shoes can also mess up the approach on the lanes...your better off wearing normal shoes than gym shoes...my tip, use the clown bowling shoes or buy a pair

Reply:The reson your shoes cant be work on the lanes is that they use a wax to make it slippery. Street shoes can wreck this wax and can also cause you to bail. The bowling shoe has a suede sole and it allows some traction but with the right amount of slide. If you go often you can get your own shoes that are more comfortable and not as tacky. The reason they have ugly shoes is so no one steals them.

Reply:Absolutely! I saw a professional bowler on TV that uses tennis shoes exclusively. Of course he cannot wear them outside, so I figure he bowled with them in out of the box condition. His style of bowling is one where he has no slide. Just calculated steps to the foul line before releasing the ball. I%26#039;ve done the same thing when approaches are extremely slippery. It is possible as long as they were not previously worn out on the street.
