Are there any health advantages to wearing sandals instead of shoes during the day?

Are there any disadvantages, other than not being able to wear them to church, bowling, or work...etc.

Are there any health advantages to wearing sandals instead of shoes during the day?
For people with feet like mine, it would be harmful. They are not supportive enough. I need good strong shoes AND my orthodics....or my heel spurs kick up. ( a little cowboy humor there.)


Seriously, the agony of da feet is NOT funny. Invest your money in shoes that are recommended for whatever condition you have. Wearing one of those big black boots(from the dr.'s office ) really helps with my problem,but very impracticle for daily living. I find that whenever I stray from the proper shoes.....I have feet problems.

Reply:Invest in some Birkenstock and you'll enjoy all the health benefits like: a straighter posture, relaxed calves, aired out feet (no foot odor), foot exercise from the toe grip effect of Birkenstocks.


Do not get the Earth Shoes, I purchased some and they were terrible.








Disadvantages, more exposure of your foot to get stepped on by others, rocks, pebbles getting in the foot area.
